Abstract

The percentage of Batam City's poor population in March 2021 was 5.05 percent, an increase of 0.30 percentage points compared to March 2020.
In March 2021, the number of poor people (population with monthly per capita expenditure below the Poverty Line) in Batam City reached 77.17 thousand people. An increase of 10.11 thousand people compared to March 2020 conditions (67.06 thousand people).
The Poverty Line in March 2021 was recorded at IDR 740,109,-/capita/month. This figure increased compared to March 2020 which was only Rp.707,856,-/capita/month.
Batam City Poverty Depth Index (P1) rose 0.19 points from 0.70 in
March 2020 to 0.89 in March 2021. Batam City's Poverty Severity Index (P2) also increased from 0.20 in March 2020 to 0.25 in March 2021.
