Development of Batam Consumer Price Index March 2025

In March 2025, Batam City experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.53 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.80.   The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in eight expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group increased by 2.63 percent; the clothing and footwear group increased by 2.73 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group increased by 3.34 percent; the health group increased by 0.29 percent; the transportation group increased by 1.57 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group increased by 0.87 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group increased by 3.39 percent; and the personal care and other services group increased by 11.23 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group which decreased by 0.20 percent; the information, communication and financial services group fell by 0.07 percent and the education group fell by 1.45 percent.
