Data and Information of Poverty of Batam Municipality 2022

The problem of poverty is one of the fundamental issues that is the focus of the government's attention. One important aspect to support the Poverty Reduction Strategy is the availability of accurate and informative poverty data. With the availability of poverty data and information, it is expected to be able to detect factors related to the problem of poverty itself.This publication describes the poverty rate calculation methodology used by BPS and the analysis of poor population/households. The analysis carried out includes developments in the poverty rate in Batam City, index of depth and severity of poverty, expenditure distribution and inequality as well as the profile of poor households. The profile data for poor households presented in this publication is the result of data processing from the March 2022 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas).
